The Outcasts in People’s Eyes… The Nobles in the Sight of Allah
A Journey of Faith between the Arrogance of Tyrants and the Response of the Weak.
Throughout human history, wealth, power, and arrogance have often driven people to reject the truth and oppose divine guidance. Pride blinded their hearts and turned them away from the light of revelation. In contrast, poverty, weakness, and simplicity opened hearts to faith, making them more willing to embrace the truth and more patient in enduring hardship for its sake.
For this reason, prophets and messengers were accused of being followed only by the “weak” and the “outcasts.” The people of Noah said:
“We see none follow you except the lowest among us, in rash judgment.” (Hud 11:27)
And they said again:
“Shall we believe in you, when the lowliest follow you?” (Ash-Shu‘ara 26:111)
Yet those despised as “outcasts” were, in reality, the true nobles in the sight of Allah—honored by their faith, elevated by their sincerity, and chosen because of their pure hearts. As the Qur’an declares:
“Is not Allah most knowing of those who are grateful?” (Al-An‘am 6:53)
This pattern has echoed throughout the ages:
Pharaoh, who arrogantly proclaimed: “I am your lord most high!” (An-Nazi‘at 79:24).
Nimrod, who argued with Prophet Abraham, deceived by the kingdom he had been given: “Have you not seen the one who disputed with Abraham about his Lord because Allah had given him kingship?” (Al-Baqarah 2:258).
And mankind in general, as Allah describes: “Indeed, man transgresses, because he sees himself self-sufficient.” (Al-‘Alaq 96:6–7).
But true honor is never found in wealth or worldly status. It lies only in piety, faith, and steadfastness upon the truth. Allah reminds the believers:
“And Allah already gave you victory at Badr while you were few and humble.” (Aal ‘Imran 3:123)
And so, history repeats itself. Even today, those who carry the banner of faith and proclaim the word of truth face ridicule and scorn—accused of influencing only the “simple-minded.” Yet the promise of Allah is clear and timeless: victory belongs to the truth, the future is for the God-conscious, and true nobility is for the believers.
“Indeed, We will support Our messengers and those who believe, in this world and on the Day when the witnesses will stand.” (Ghafir 40:51)
